Piñattak is an interactive installation where the goal of the game is simple: one participant launches a piñata at another using an improvised catapult, while the other player tries to smash it with a baseball bat. This project blends technology, playful release, and political satire to create an immersive and thought-provoking experience. The catapult is built from a swing seat stretched between two poles using carabiners, allowing players to launch the piñatas with considerable force. On the technology side, a WiiMote is attached to the baseball bat to measure the acceleration and striking power of the participants. LED panels and a television screen instantly inform the players of their performance: a “STRIKE” if the piñata is hit, or a “MISS” if it’s missed.
